The Stone Guide to Dog Grooming
The Stone Guide to Grooming for all Dog Breeds is a massive compendium of tips and tricks for grooming all one hundred and twenty five breeds of dogs recognized by the American Kennel Club (and even a few cats!). The book devotes at least a page, and sometimes several for more tricky breeds, to grooming your dog so that it’s in its best light. On top of being very dense in material, there are a ton of photos, drawings and charts to help you visualize your end results. This book also shows you what kind of tools to use for each breed of dog, how to handle snappy dogs, and even how to start up a beginning grooming shop of your own. Whether you are a complete novice to dog grooming or you’ve been doing it for a while, you’ll find something to help you out in this massive book.
Comprehensive or not?
There have been some complaints by readers that the book isn’t as comprehensive as it makes itself out to be, but since it does cover over a hundred breeds of dog, there is only so much it can do. Still, some people accuse the author of favoritism – there is more on the poodle breed than many of the other breeds for example. The book also only gives an overview of tools, but nothing on more specifics such as which length of blades to use or what to use where. However, if you are looking for a great overview on dog grooming, this is an excellent book to have at hand.
Purchase the Book
You can purchase The Stone Guide to Grooming for all Dog Breeds at most bookstores and online in stores like Amazon.com. This thick tome goes for a minimum of about $20.00 for a new copy online and $23.07 from Amazon itself. In a bookstore, you would probably end up paying more than this, so buying online would be your best bet. If you want a great book on grooming any breed of dog, this is the book for you.
